How to measure your lock cylinder correctly
Measured from the faceplate screw
The length of a profile cylinder is always given from the centre of the faceplate screw outward and inward, for example 30/35 mm. Note both measurements separately, as cylinders are often asymmetric.
Don't let it protrude
A cylinder that protrudes more than about three millimetres on the outside can be broken off more easily. It must also not be too short, otherwise the door won't close properly.
If in doubt, bring it with you
The easiest way is to bring the removed cylinder to our shop in Elmshorn. We determine the correct length and advise you on the right security fitting.
